Empowered, radiant, and real – Madi’s boudoir journey with Angel Eyes
Madi’s journey is one of courage, confidence and embracing the power of self-love through boudoir photography.
We say it all the time, but boudoir is so much more than photos. It’s confidence. It’s healing. It’s coming back to yourself and seeing her with fresh eyes. And for Madi? That couldn’t be more true.
She walked through our doors during one of the harder chapters of her life. Professionally and personally, things felt heavy. She told us:
“I wasn’t coping at all. I needed to feel sexy, alive, and confident.”
And that’s exactly what we aimed to give her.
Meet Madi – New Mum, Project Manager and Dancing Queen!
First things first, Madi is the kind of person you instantly want in your corner. She’s 28, recently became a mum to a beautiful little boy (congrats again, Madi!), and somehow juggles motherhood with a full-on role as an Operational Project Manager for a Christmas company across SA and VIC (yes, the magic behind Westfield’s festive season!).
Outside of work and baby cuddles, she’s all about cooking, laughing with loved ones and dancing like no one is watching. She describes herself as fiercely loyal, “If you hurt my loved ones, you’ll have me to answer to” and honestly, we love that energy.
Fun fact? Her great-uncle was a famous cartoonist in Sydney and Melbourne in the '60s and '70s. Creativity clearly runs deep in her family!
Discovering the Magic of Boudoir
In 2021, Madi booked not one, but two sessions with us - a solo shoot and a couple's shoot. And though she discovered us online (as many do!), it was our alluring angel wings that captivated her.
At the time, boudoir wasn’t something she’d seriously considered:
“I always thought boudoir was a lot raunchier than what it actually was… until I found Angel Eyes and saw the stunning photos they had produced.”
She was initially very nervous… about how she’d look in the outfits, about whether her now-fiancé would think she looked silly (spoiler: he didn’t!), and about working with a male photographer. But after the first chat with Dave? Those nerves faded…
“That went out the window after I had a good conversation with Dave and after the first photo was taken. He’s absolutely amazing to work with - as well as Mel!”
We’re so grateful to Madi for trusting us with these beautiful moments in her life. Not only was she an absolute joy to have in the studio, her courage and charisma could also be seen through the lens and the images that followed left us awestruck!
A Lasting Impact: Then, Now & Always
Madi’s story, though unique, will certainly resonate with many of those reading.
“For years I always thought I was this boring, unconfident, average person who shouldn’t be doing anything remotely like a boudoir shoot. I always had tall beautiful friends who could be and were models… I wanted to be that person for a change.”
But here’s what’s beautiful: four years on, Madi still feels that same confidence from the day of her photoshoots, every time she looks at her photos.
“Now, as I’m stepping into motherhood, it doesn’t bother me that I’m a little pudgy or not considered a model… I am beautiful inside and out and if people can’t recognise that, they’re not the right people to have in my life.”
YES. YES. YES.
This is exactly why boudoir matters. Not for the perfect hair or the lacy lingerie, but for the way it allows women to finally see themselves clearly, and to feel seen.
“Boudoir is important because it brings out this different side of you that you never knew you had. That is honestly such a special feeling.”
We’re beyond proud of the journey Madi has been on, her amazing perspective on life and the courage it’s taken her to get to where she is. She’s an inspiration to many who are battling their own demons and proof that the motivation to change your mindset can be the start of something so damn beautiful.
