Boudoir is all about embracing your beauty, confidence, and individuality. As experienced boudoir photographers in Brisbane/ the Gold Coast, we’ve seen firsthand how empowering a photoshoot can be. To help you feel amazing from start to finish, we’ve put together this handy prep guide with everything you need to know before stepping in front of the camera!

What to Wear for Your Boudoir Photoshoot?
The number one question we get asked: What do I wear?! The answer? Anything that makes you feel sexy, confident, and you! A boudoir photoshoot is primarily about lingerie, but why limit yourself! Here are some fabulous ideas to consider:
Lingerie Sets – A well-fitted bra and panty set can do wonders and a bodysuit is the perfect figure hugging option if you’d like to be covered, but not too covered. Visit your local lingerie store (Bras N Things have some stunning options) and let them know you’re shopping for a boudoir session – they’ll be happy to help!
Oversized Sweaters & Knee-High Socks – The ultimate cosy-yet-sexy vibe.
Robe or Jacket – Sometimes, a little bit of coverage makes things even more alluring. Lean into the art of tease.
Your Partner’s Shirt or Team Jersey – A fun, personal touch they’ll love to see.
Wedding Accessories – If you’re doing this as a gift for your fiancé, bring your veil, wedding shoes, or engagement ring.
Props - musical instruments, pieces from a hobby you love, an item that means a lot to you or spicy pieces like whips, handcuffs, paddles etc. are all wonderful options! We simply limit our props at animals, dangerous weapons and messy items.
You’re also welcome to just bring your beautiful self, your session will be amazing either way!
Most importantly, choose outfits that fit well and make you feel fabulous – confidence is everything!

Prepping for the Big Day – Beauty Tips & Tricks
Hair & Nails
Avoid any major hair changes right before your session. A fresh disaster cut or colour mishap isn’t something we can Photoshop!
You know your hair best, so wash it when you feel is appropriate, whether that’s the day before or a few days out.
If you’re getting a manicure or pedicure, go for classic, neutral colours that complement your outfits.
Not a nail person? No worries – just make sure your nails are neat and clean.
Waxing & Shaving
If you wax, do it 5-7 days before to avoid redness or irritation.
Shaving? Do it the night before or the morning of for the smoothest results.
Eyebrow waxing should be done about a week in advance.
Skincare & Tanning
Avoid sunburns and harsh tan lines.!
Say no to spray tans! They often turn out orange and streaky in photos.
Stick to your usual skincare routine and avoid introducing new products close to your session to prevent breakouts or allergic reactions.
