Wow! Can you believe it's been five amazing years since Boudoir by Angel Eyes first opened its doors? It feels like just yesterday we were capturing our very first shoot, and yet, looking back at all we've accomplished, we can’t help but be overwhelmed with gratitude.
As we celebrate our Boudoir-versary, we want to take a moment to thank all of our incredible clients, whether you’ve been with us from the start or just discovered us yesterday. You’ve made our journey nothing short of magical, and we can’t wait for what the next five years will bring.
Our Journey: From Humble Beginnings to a Premier Boudoir Studio
Before even opening our doors on January 16, 2020, Boudoir by Angel Eyes was the result of countless hours of study, research, and preparation. We knew that to offer an exceptional boudoir photography experience to our clients, we had to be more than just skilled with a camera. Having been in the photography industry (sports and portraiture) since 2009, we already boasted incredible knowledge, experience and reviews within the photography sphere, however at the time, boudoir was a whole new kettle of fish. Boudoir photography is a separate artform, and it requires a deep understanding of posing, lighting, and the delicate nuances of working with clients in an intimate setting.
In the months leading up to our opening, we dedicated ourselves to studying the intricacies of boudoir photography. We researched everything from proper posing techniques (to ensure our clients always looked their best) to lighting setups that would flatter the body and create a sense of intimacy and luxury. We also delved into the psychology behind boudoir - learning how to make clients feel comfortable, confident, and empowered during their sexy photoshoot.
Having invested significant time and money into education surrounding boudoir, we reap the rewards of the fruits of our labour daily and continue ongoing education monthly, even to this day, to ensure we're always offering you only the best, Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and improve - and we continue this journey every single day with every client who steps into our studio - we aim to never stop growing.
But really it all began on January 16, 2020, with our very first boudoir shoot. Back then, our studio was a small, intimate space with a black velvet backdrop plus our then simpleFun & Flirtyset - a setting perfect for those first steps in the world of boudoir photography in Brisbane. We were thrilled, and though we had so much to learn, we knew we were on the right path to creating something special.
But then came March 2020, and like so many businesses, we faced the unexpected challenges of the COVID-19 shutdown. It was a tough time, but Dave, one of our visionary studio co-owners, used this as an opportunity to transform the space. During those few months of forced closure, he designed and built the Sultry & Seductive Studio, a stunning, glamorous set with rich brown walls, luxurious flooring, and new window trimmings. And to top it off, we received our Luxury Chaise all the wayfrom Melbourne - a statement piece that added a touch of elegance and sensuality to every sexy photoshoot we held in the new space.
When we reopened in June 2020, we were able to offer our clients two beautiful and distinct studios: the Fun & Flirtyspace we started with, and the sultry, intimate atmosphere of the Sultry & SeductiveSet. It was a turning point that allowed us to offer more variety for those seeking empowering photoshoots in Brisbane.
A Studio Reimagined: Dark & Moody and Beyond
Fast forward to December 2020, when we took on another major renovation project. We closed for the Christmas break, and when we returned, we had a brand-new, additional look with our Dark & Moody Set. The kitchenette once taking up residence in the studio was removed, the walls were repainted, and the floors were updated - all to create a rich, intimate environment that was perfect for luxury boudoir sessions. With the addition of our stunning dark blue velvet Chesterfieldcouch, we had a third set, ready to cater to every client’s unique vision.
By January 2021, we were thrilled to welcome clients back with three sets - each with its own unique vibe. This diversity allowed us to offer a truly customised boudoir shoot experience, whether you were looking for soft and romantic glamour boudoir shots, sultry and seductive poses, or something dark, dramatic, and moody.
Growing Our Team and Expanding Our Vision
In October 2022, we reached another important milestone - hiring Sherie and Nicole to join our talented team. Both Sherie and Nicole have brought fresh energy, creativity, and professionalism to our studio, and we are beyond grateful to have them by our side.
As our team grew, we also celebrated a new tradition: our Masquerade Ball! Our first ball in 2022 was such a success that we recently celebrated our second biannual Masquerade Ball in 2024, bringing our clients together for a night of glamour, fun and celebration. We can’t wait for the next one!
Our Ever-Expanding Set Designs
Our clients know that we’re always working to elevate the boudoir photography experience. Over the years, we’ve introduced several unique sets designed to make each photoshoot feel like a work of art.
In 2022 we introduced theGold Bed Set- a new dramatic yet captivating scene exclusive to returning clients - with an uptick of clients wishing to revisit the studio for another boudoir experience we aimed to provide yet another unique scene to make their boudoir dreams come true. This came to be the dawn of our ever expanding Limited Luxe Sets.
In 2023, we unveiled The Looking Glass set, a dreamy, reflective space that offers stunning visual effects for your boudoir experience.
The following year, we created Twilight - a dramatic, moody space that captures the essence of elegance and allure in amongst faux-fur rugs and dozens of real candles. In addition, we also launched our H2GLOWset, adding a touch of ethereal beauty to our studio featuring both a bath and faux shower setting in one - offering clients the chance to capture their confidence-building photos in a light and glowing atmosphere.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Boudoir by Angel Eyes
But we're not stopping here! We are so excited about our next big step - our new boudoir studio in Flagstone!
This new space will allow us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in boudoir photography, offering more variety, more stunning sets, and more opportunities for our clients to feel empowered and beautiful in front of the camera.
We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings in January 2020, and we owe it all to you - the incredible women, men, and couples who have trusted us with your intimate photoshoots.
